Your files. A clearer workflow.

The first Stringly workflow uses flat JSON and a small REST API. No SDK migration required.

  1. Start the local API

    Terminal
    cd localization-backend
    npm ci
    npm run dev

    Then start the portal at localhost:4311 and create an account. The API listens on localhost:4310.

  2. Import source keys

    en.json
    {
      "checkout.cta_pay": "Pay {amount}",
      "cart.empty": "Your basket is empty"
    }

    Nested JSON and ICU syntax are not supported in the current importer. Use dotted keys and simple named placeholders.

  3. Translate and review

    Choose a target language in the portal or React Native app. Save a draft, resolve placeholder issues, then approve the translation.

  4. Export reviewed JSON

    HTTP
    GET /v1/projects/:id/export?locale=tr
    Authorization: Bearer <your-session-token>

    Only reviewed strings are exported. Updating a source string marks its translations outdated, so old copy cannot silently ship as approved.
